500,000 Poeple; Half a million people

Heard a Caucasian male talking about how his life took off after he started blogging that people would leave comments about the things he was saying/doing; somehow it was related to his making aliving; He said that he had over a half a million people who had visited his blog. Which got me to thinking about three, maybe four years ago, checked with Techtori(sp) where they had one of the first blogs listed and that at least a half a million (500,000) people had visited blog; but as I thought about it; I have yet to have ONE-no make that two comments on any of the blogs=why? and the one comment made was one I wrote to try and figure out how the comment section of the blog works=?????
do you think that 500,000 people would visit a blog and not one person respond=???? seems almost impossible; think maybe somebody may be stilling the comments off of the blogs that I write-????
And Egypt=is now in a situatioin -one of the new commentators said; where there can be a lot of abuse by the authorities./because nothing is official and nobody can do anything about it=?????
